The Lowell Driver Experience

 An innovative program was started this week for our Truckload Professional Drivers.  We have developed the concept of the Lowell Driver Experience for 6 of our newer employees each week to be a part of a 24 hour training and development session to help impact our close quarter collisions and our 180 day turnover.  The day started with a tour of our corporate campus.  The team started in the basement and saw all the working aspects of our two towers. 
Classroom training was included in the curriculum.  We shared new technology and programs that can save our drivers time and money. 
Our safety team put together a close quarter training course that we will be using each week to test the skill level and training needs for our attendees.

Pre-trip skills were taught to help us impact our CSA scores and our Professional Drivers ability to keep their record clean and our vehicles on the road. 
What good is our technology if we don't know use it to make our utilization better?  So our drivers are taught how they can use our  Peoplenet unit and Drive app to make the miles we promote to new employees. 

Our Truckload team walked away from session one with a belief that we can make a difference.   We can impact safety, utilization and turnover.  Building relationships and teaching our Professional Drivers to be successful in a team atmosphere is what we are about in Truckload.
