Down On Beale Street
As you know, our Razorback Truck has a special decal on the cab that signifies the alliance with J.B. Hunt. This decal can also be found on the trailer.
Our drivers are living in the lap of luxury this week. They are staying in the world famous Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis. They get to watch the march of the ducks twice daily.
Now that Rodney and Rico have experienced the Peabody mattress, can they ever go back to the bunk in one of our trucks?
Rodney's natural reaction to a tree like this is to install a tree stand in it for deer hunting.
Rodney, that explains the customer complaint about missing pallets from their last load.
We Are Going To Memphis, Where The Beat is Tough!
Our Razorback truck was seen on Saturday on its way to the preparation week for the Arkansas Razorback's journey to the Liberty Bowl game against Kansas State.
This morning I received these photo's from a friend who passed our truck on the way to Memphis, Tennessee. Our truck was being driven by Rodney Collins. Jerry Rico left last night and picked up a ramp at our Final Mile site in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The second trailer (a rental) did not have a ramp and our FMS friends came to the rescue on Sunday.
Rodney Collins is doing it right. You can see he is in the proper lane and he had just stopped in North Little Rock to have a faulty light replaced on the trailer. In Rodney's own words, "the Little Rock shop ROCKS. The tech in Little Rock was Jimmy and he was great!"
Happy Holidays from the Families...
We had a comment from Dan Byers daughter on our Facebook page saying thank you for getting her father home. Your dedication to your drivers not only affects them, but their families as well! Merry Christmas!
Thank you, Erin Beth for sharing your wonderful smile and gratitude with us this Holiday Season.

It's Christmas Day. Where is William Roy?
William is in Lexington, Virginia for the night. He is on his way to West Virginia to pick up his load in the morning thats will deliver in Buffalo, New York on Saturday. He is what we call a WILLRUN driver and is giving up his holiday to run for us. We have 200+ drivers doing what William is doing and we are grateful for every one of them. William started working with J.B. Hunt
last year on 12-14-15.
It's Christmas Day. Where is David Garrick?
David is a driver on our Staples fleet. He parked at the East Brunswick terminal and is home for the holiday. Check out this great message sent to the CCF drivers today from Cary. Well said and I am not sure any of us could have said it better.
It's Christmas Day. Where Is Edwina?
Edwina just arrived in Buckeye, Arizona to try to drop her load. The receiver would not allow it, so she took it to Tolleson, Arizona and she is home for Christmas.
Edwina will be delivering her load on Saturday. She maximized her time up to Christmas Eve and is glad to be home for the holiday.
It is Christmas Day. Where Is Fred?
Fred lives in Auburn, New York. His truck is in Waterloo, New York at the pin drop. As you can see, Fred lives in one of the coolest places in North America. This area is called the Finger Lakes. They were created by glaciers. For those of you who have seen this area, you can attest that it is a rare place that must be seen to be believed.
Fred just happens to be on a load that picks up in New York on Monday and delivers in Virginia on the 29th. This is the strategy we portrayed above in our map.
Fred was overjoyed to be home for the holiday. He had a family event that occurred that made it even more important to be home. Keep Fred in your thoughts and prayers. He represents what is good in our driver force.
Spending Deal Keeps Halt on Trucker Rule
The 2,000 page omni-bus spending bill signed by President Obama contained a provision that continues the suspension of certain hours-of-service regulations for professional drivers.
Under those suspended rules, which were overturned in late 2014, drivers are no longer required to use a 34-hour restart to reset their weekly allotment of hours required to include two off-duty periods between 1 a.m. -5 a.m.. It also limited drivers to using the 34-hour restart provision once a week.
The spending package specifies that the FMCSA must show the rules demonstrate "statistically significant improvement in all outcomes related to safety, operator fatigue, driver health and longevity, and work schedules" before the suspension is lifted.

A Great Experience
David Weaver is a Fleet Manager with our Walmart Dedicated Fleet, a part of our Truckload CCF team. Shawn has been with us since August of 2015.
12 Days Of Christmas
‘Twas the run before Christmas, in the cab of my truck, A hundred miles from home, I’m in need of some luck.
The kids hung their stockings, but are feeling quite sad, They must go to bed now, and they wonder, “Where’s Dad?”
With a kiss and a hug, all will be right, But alone in the kitchen, Mom grows more uptight.
Earlier that day, the children were grinning, As they speckled the tree, with bright balls and trimming.
Then sipping hot chocolate, and playing Christmas songs, And talking about Daddy, who’s been gone too long.
And now I can see her, her brow creased with fret, As the children start dreaming, there’s no presents yet.
Curled on the couch, running a hand through her hair, In the glow of the tree lights, hoping I’ll be there.
Then I imagine the morning, with my love at my side, In tumbling our children. I must finish this ride.
Howling winds, blowing snow, and ahead all is white, Doubts creeping in. Will I make it tonight?
Beside me in the cab, with the wind unforgiving, Pretty packages sit waiting, for sweet Christmas giving.
I’ve a truckload of wishes, and I must deliver, But the storm keeps on roaring, as my old engine shivers.
It’s hardy and stubborn, and it’s taken me miles, And I’ll need it tonight, to see my kids’ smiles.
Rolling over the drifts, rubber gripping the snow, My big rig keeps moving, but ever so slow.
I’m gripping the wheel, and grinding her gears, And that fierce wind’s just whistling, and I can’t hardly steer.
And great gusts are blowing me, to the side of the road, And I’m fighting my fear, as I steady my load.
What was that I noticed, with a glance to the sky, Could the weather be clearing, did a star catch my eye?
And then, in a heartbeat, not a moment too soon, The night sky emerges, twinkling stars and bright moon.
With clear road ahead, I quickly arrive, The children peek from the window, as I pull in the drive.
I pat the door of my rig, as my feet touch the ground, For on this special night, it brought me home safe and sound.
With a heart full of joy, and a smile on my face, I open our door, to a loving embrace.
The gifts round the tree, make a beautiful sight, Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Poopy Doopy!!!
Lowell Driver Experience-Class #3
Learning some quick fix tips on the Peoplenet OBC can be a life saver when trying to preserving your ELD hours of service.
Open discussion at the round table proved to be full of laughter with this weeks group. They seemed to genuinely enjoy the experience and the quality time.
There is no time for laughter on the driving course. It's all business for Peter Amos as he prepares to show his driving skills and identify opportunities to improve our safety culture.

Drivewyze - I-49 Northbound Springdale, Arkansas
The first screen alerted us to the weigh station. The warning included the audible alert.
The next warning came up at 1 mile along with the audible alert.
The next alert indicated we needed to follow road signs.
The road sign alerted us that the weigh station was closed.
This alert came at the end of the weigh station geofence. I am not so sure this is necessary.
What Does Drivewyze Sound Like When Identifying a Weigh Station?
Here is the real sounds of the Peoplenet unit when a Drivewyze site is identified 2 miles away.

What Is Behind The Tape?
We admit it----we wanted to hold you in suspense. What is the caution tape for you ask? It is announcing to the world that we will soon have a Learning Lab on the 4th floor for all of our Truckload team. Kayla Hubbell will be in charge of this institution of higher learning. We are just awaiting our technical tools and we will let the learning begin.
Drive-By Truckers
Here is our current holiday plan for Truckload. Our strategy allows for 235 Professional Drivers to be routed through the house while dispatched on a load. This will allow JBT to deliver excellent customer service and maintain our capacity throughout the Christmas and New Year holiday. We also have 209 drivers who have agreed to forgo time off during the holiday. We must ensure that these folks get great service on miles and efficiency. They are sacrificing their holiday and we must deliver a great experience.
The 12 Days of Christmas-Feeding The Team Courtesy of Kristi Tosh!
Last Friday our Truck Leadership team served breakfast to over 250 people. We thought it would be fun to share pictures of the members of our prep team and the love and care that went into the offerings. We enjoyed serving the team as much as you enjoyed the eats!
Greg Price was our cutting specialist for the strawberries.
Heather Wright spent her time on providing quality blueberries and blackberries.
Adam Neil tackled the hefty job of quality control of our de-stemming operation.
Todd Davis ensured our grapes met minimum standards of plumpness and vibrancy.
Jacqueline Webster won the best sweater and scooper award.
Our fruit and pastry table was a feast fit for Kings and Queens.
Our first customer was Mark Nuessner. He left with a plate full of quality food

Jersey Fist Pump
Here is a great note from Kin Wong on Chatter:
Oh my. This is by far the best shop experience ever! The terminal in east Brunswick's shop has the best lead man "Ed" who answered all questions I had about my truck with patience. I feel like I am respected 100%. Truck was assigned to Mr "Jim" who got my unit fixed quick. Now I have never met them before so this is an excellent impression that they gave me as a gift. Just made my day as a driver. As far as the parking issue, I have give it an A+ to the people who made that happen. The parking lot is so tidy and well organized. just beautiful! Thank you to the management. Very impressed.
