I Ain't A Peterbilt, I'm A Mack

Mack Lambeth paid a visit to the home office today.  Mack has been a teammate here at J.B. Hunt since 1987.  Mack is certainly in the holiday spirit.  I asked him what his plans were for Christmas Day.  Mack said he had been running since Thanksgiving and plans to take off for 4 days.  I bet we will have a load that picks up Wednesday/Thursday of next week and delivers on the 28th of December.  This is the magic that makes our drivers happy and also takes care of our customers and our bottom line.  Lets get Mack home like he asked and put some money in his pocket.

As we prepare to provide capacity for our customers and quality home time for our drivers, check out our latest campaign:

Fred is back!  This time we want to make sure we get the bulk of our drivers to the area they live (the south).  We would love to have many of our drivers on a load through the house since we have the advantage of Christmas falling on a Friday.  After Christmas is over we want to hone in on freight that moves our drivers from the south to the midwest.  This can help make a huge impact on our December results and the paycheck of every driver trying to pay off holiday expenses.  Do your part and help Truckload have the most successful season ever by loading every trailer possible--Fred is depending on us to make his holiday successful and profitable.   

A Note From Fred

I received a text from Fred Mcintyre that he wanted to share with the entire J.B. Hunt team:

I just want to say thanks to all the people at the home office and in the field that helped support Wreaths Across America.  I was so overwhelmed by the amount of people showing their support for the veterans.  It actually took me a moment to realize that young lady had started singing the National Anthem.  That is how taken aback I was by the whole process.  The entire drive was just fabulous (except for the part where I took a wrong turn with the CEO in the truck).  I haven't felt that kind of love for our country in over 20 years.  It is just fantastic.  Please pass on my heartfelt thank you to John Roberts and the entire J.B. Hunt family.

Lowell Driver Experience-Class #2

 Call it luck or skill regarding the drivers we have picked for our Lowell Driver Experience  --Class #2 was just as great to work with as last weeks team.  It just makes you proud we have such great people.   Our classes have been positive and have enjoyed the training and bonding.

 This is our roundtable.  We talk about items the team has seen in their

short tenure that can be improved. 

Ryan Ardary helps with the pre-trip process. 

Jeff Yeoman teaches proper procedure to check for a great

marriage between the kingpin and the fifth wheel. 

Our Professional Drivers love the extra attention they are 

getting regarding the use of their Peoplenet OBC. 

The skill level exhibited on our close quarters training has been one

of the most surprising aspects of this form of relationship building. 

Best of Wreaths-Fayetteville, Arkansas

Our military wrapped tractor arrives in Lowell.

Fred Mcintyre and Sarah White celebrate the arrival of our wreaths.  Fred drove our CEO John Roberts from St. Louis,Missouri to our home office. Sarah is Fred's Fleet Manager today.  She will soon take on her new challenge in the role of Area Service Manager. 

Our tractor still looks sharp after 1 year of supporting our military philanthropy events. 

Micheal Caswell drove the tractor from Lowell to the Fayetteville National Cemetery. 

It was amazing to the see the make-up of the 4,000 people in attendance who helped in our efforts. 

Our wreath still looks fresh and ready for its task.

Michael Collins, a PCS Carrier Procurement Representative was 

with the team to present the first wreaths.

The youth from cub scouts and boy scouts learn about remembering, honoring and teaching. 

Patrick Simmons was the keynote speaker. 

Mike Hatfield was a welcome sight and helped to make a rewarding day even better. 

Our job is complete today.

Truckload Hero's

On December 10th, 2015 J.B. Hunt Truckload Driver Pete Jaramillo witnessed a collision involving a personal vehicle and a median guard rail. Pete said it looked as though the driver of the car dozed off for a moment and struck the median.  The car proceeded to roll out of control multiple times. Pete and a handful of other Professional Drivers exiting the weigh station all jumped into action with out hesitation. Together this group of Highway Hero's pulled two occupants from the vehicle to safety.













We are honored and proud every time we here these great stories of heroism that our driver perform everyday. It is not in your job description to save lives, but we witness them doing this day in and day out.

New Additions to our Driving Force

There was a lot of happening in Lowell, AR this week.  Please welcome the addition of 4 Traditional Independent Contractors and 2 new Lease Purchase Operators.

We are proud to welcome Hugh Hawkins, Richard Harris Sr., Richard Harris Jr., Lachun Walker, Gerard Dick, and  Christopher Bass (pictured left to right). Together this group of professionals brings with them over 35 yrs worth of driving experience.
